JUICY NEWS AND FRUITY FACTS

THE COVID-19 CONSEQUENCES

At LBP we are working around the clock to create the best possible situation for our people and those that (need to) visit our facilities. We had to take some necessary measures and as a result, some procedures might take a little longer. Like answering your questions; this might happen a little later than usual. If you have any questions regarding COVID-19 and our activities, please contact Anton Filippo, head of our 'COVID-19 Update Team'

WHO IS LIABLE FOR TRANSPORT BY ROAD?

LBP is a logistics company specialized in the handling of fresh fruit and vegetables. When it comes to organizing transport, we are acting as freight forwarder. By air. By sea. But also by road. This might rise some questions about our responsibilities, which we are happy to explain!

LITTLE BREXIT UPDATE

With COVID-19 roaming the world, we’ll almost forget about Brexit. Short update: Boris Johnson has won the UK elections. Brexit is a fact. There’s no deal yet. LBP’s Brexit-team anticipates the withdrawal for over a year now. We asked head of the team Marcel van Leeuwen to answer your most frequently asked questions!

MEET WENDY CABRAL

Originally we employed Wendy to join our Brexit-team; in spite of the Brexit-delay, we kept Wendy on board to assist in the import department and manage our drivers’ counter. Recently she received an award from Luba Agency: this price consists a contribution for a new training of her choice. Wendy chose a training in logistics management. Good for her and LBP!

LBP RECEIVES THANK YOU-TREE

Inca Invest (Peru) surprised LBP with a very special certificate during the Fruit Attraction Madrid. The certificate states that Anton Filippo has a tree named after him. Inca Invest wanted to thank LBP for developing the Peruvian fruit and vegetable business and the relationships between importers and exporters in Europe and Peru. We will fly down there and watch our tree grow!

MACHINERY MUSCLES

Our production area is not on our ground floor… and when our new ELIFAB blueberry sorting machine was delivered we faced quite of a challenge! To bring the equipment to the second floor we needed more equipment to lift it. But it worked and in a few hours all pieces were where they supposed to be.

TEAR DOWN THE WALLS

Not only did we need heavy machinery to lift the new sorting machine to our production floor, we also had to create more space to place this extensive new packing line. Meaning we had to rearrange our production floor thoroughly. So we did. Who needs walls, when you have new a blueberry packing line?

KEEP THE DOCTOR AWAY

It’s not just apples, it’s also yoga that keeps the doctor out! Exercise is good for all. Even during busy days there’s no need to go to the gym. With some creativity we can keep ourselves fit and healthy at work! Like Irma and Colin show us here! Actually, they might consider their distance of two arm lengths in the upcoming weeks…
